Busbars, posts and terminals
Somewhere to land more than one cable without stacking six lugs on a battery post. Busbars, insulated power posts, brass battery terminals and the insulating covers that go over them.
Stacked lugs are the commonest bad joint on a boat: each one loosens the one below it, and the bottom lug ends up carrying the whole bank through a fraction of its face. A busbar fixes that for the price of an afternoon.
Cover any exposed positive stud. An insulator costs a couple of pounds and stops a dropped spanner turning into a fire.
